We are seeking a dedicated and customer-focused individual to join our team as a Cashier/Food Runner in our casual dining restaurant. As a Cashier/Food Runner, you will play a crucial role in providing excellent customer service and ensuring smooth operations within the restaurant.
Responsibilities:
Greeting and welcoming customers in a friendly and professional manner.
Operating the cash register and accurately handling cash, credit, and debit card transactions.
Taking food and beverage orders from customers and entering them into the point-of-sale system.
Providing detailed information about menu items, specials, and promotions to customers.
Collaborating with kitchen staff to ensure accurate and timely preparation of orders.
Assembling and packaging orders accurately for takeout and delivery.
Delivering orders to the appropriate tables and ensuring prompt and efficient service.
Assisting in bussing and cleaning tables during busy periods to maintain a clean and organized dining area.
Monitoring and replenishing supplies at the cashier station and maintaining adequate change in the cash drawer.
Addressing customer concerns, inquiries, and complaints in a polite and professional manner.
Collaborating with other team members to provide exceptional customer service and contribute to a positive work environment.
Adhering to all food safety and sanitation regulations to maintain a clean and safe work environment.
Following proper cash handling procedures and accurately balancing the cash register at the end of each shift.
Assisting in other tasks as assigned by the management team.
Qualifications:
Previous experience in a cashier or food service role is preferred but not required. We are willing to train the right candidate.
Excellent customer service skills with the ability to engage and interact with customers in a positive and friendly manner.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
Basic math skills and proficiency in handling cash transactions.
Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
Flexibility to work in shifts, including weekends and holidays.
Ability to stand, walk, and carry heavy trays for extended periods.
Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations is a plus.
High school diploma or equivalent.
